Default Stupid question.

This may sound very common sense but here it goes. I have a 94 convert. The dealer broke a couple of the tire sensor bands. Dont ask why they didnt replace em, it was before i owned the car (i know, sounds dumb to me too). Anyway i have the code of course. #1 can i get rid of it without buying new bands? #2 if i get bigger wheels like oem 18" hows that work? i need 18" bands? Any help is appreciated. thanks

New bands are around $600.00.
Some junkyards have them for $150.00.
If they work you will pay about $300.00 per wheel used.
That is why the dlr did not replace them.
18 in wheel .
You will need to get a hand held computer to reset the spedo gear, top speed and I think the Lt1 edit or tuner cats to delete the LTPWS light or pull the bulb.
All the wheels have different color bands in them.
The sensors are held in place with just a big hose clamp.
You should see what happends when a car is on the dyno when one of those bands break.

Although I can't speak for others, my bulb is pulled. It's a much cheaper alternative than paying for new sensors or dealing with a Chevy dealer to have the system de-activated.

When I put my new rims/tires on, I left the sensors in the originals, didnt have to pull the bulb or fuse, the ltpws light did not come on, no problems (sys. operates pefect, when I had tested w/just new rears light was on, mine is a 90)
