Default Injector HELL

Hey Guys, please ignore the screen name as I am in here looking for help for my '92. It seems 2 injectors have crapped out on me and my head is literally spinning from reading TOO MUCH injector info! MY issues are real simple. I have heard horror stories about Accel injectors (I have no personal experiance with them so I can't say, PLUS I do not want to start a brand against brand war in this thread, just personal experiance both good or bad). I have written to Bruce at 5-0 and he says the only set he has for my car is "flow matched originals". My question is what is really best for a stock LT-1? Mul-Tec, Accel, Ford or WHAT? I have read enough to know that I want to be in the 24# range for this car, but before I spend money on Ebay (or anywhere else for that matter), I want to be sure I am getting the right injectors. I'll tell ya the '76 with 330hp crate and 600 edelbrock carb is sooooooooooo much easier! Thanks for your input, I NEED it!

Its really not that hard...

I would suggest ford svo injectors #24 pounders. They will cost you 219 from summitracing.com

Lots run them and lots have success with them.

Hope that helps

I have used both the FMS and the Lucas with great sucess. I have also used the LS1 injectors but you need to mod the retaining groove to use the LT1 retaining clips (5 Min fix)
It just depends on what you want to spend. The Lucas injectors are the best for stock replacment and FMS is the best injector. The LS1 injectors can be found cheap. As for e-bay I think as long as the injectors are new not take offs they should be fine

quick question - regardless which brand you buy - should you spend a few bucks and have a brand new set of injectors flow matched?

anyone recommend someone to do this?

didn't mean to hijack, but i thought this woule be pertinent information to this thread!

Try Rich at Cruzin Performance (link on my site) he has a complete reconditioning service as well as flow matching service. Give him a call, he is very easy to talk with and will give you the right scoop.

If your two injectors still have good resistance readings I suggest you send the set to Rich for reconditioning. The cost is around $100 or so for the set, plus shipping with 48hr shop time.

Even if they don't check on resistance I believe he still replaces bad injectors that he gets in for service, at a very reasonable price.
BUT! If you have Multec injectors...don't bother sending them to him, wasted postage.
If you don't mind being off by 1# try the 25# ones SLP has/had for $99. Don't know if they still have them or not.

so all you have to do is tell them you want 24# SVO injectors (did i get that right) will they ask me what kind of car they are going on?
will any modifications need to be made to put those in?
i suspect they are a cakewalk to install - or am i setting myself up for failure?

I have some '92 injectors. 4 of 8 of them work perfectly. I don't know which ones though.

Interested?

I'm putting them in my 383...

(But they will have the pressure turned up to around where the LS1s run them which equivalate them to about 28lb/hr )

For what it's worth; mine came out with CAV (lucas) injectors; later version I believe. Just had them all ultrasonically cleaned and unfortunately 2 leaked at the body. Still, it's a 20 year old car.

Interestingly, once they were cleaned the came up about 10% in flow
