ok i have replaced like everything on this car. its a 96 LT4. i put the new engine in it with a newer opti and new coil on it and it won't start. so i pulled the crank angle sensor and ran a screwdriver over it to see if it would spark with the coil wire pulled off and set next to a good ground. nothing. so i took the opti that used to work and just plugged it in and spun the rotor and no spark, but the injectors and air pump lit off. same happens with other opti but no spark. am i over looking something. tried old coil also. bought a new crank angle sensor and ran a screwdriver over that an still nothing. anything else i can check or replace? need to get this thing moving bad so i can sell it. thanks
well there is power to the coil. i replaced the ignition module just for the hell of it. used dielectric grease. still nothing. checked all the fuses and connections can't find anything wrong with it....
i really, really need to get this thing running. anyone have other suggestions???
i thought that too and couldn't find any that i missed. i added an extra body ground off the engine too. i am going to check again. this thing is really starting to **** me off.
Module has its own ground, pin C black wire/white stripe .Check PCM grounds,(these are for distrubutor ref signal) 4 black/white stripe wires, pin 1 Blue plug, pin 2 and 18 Red plug, pin 32 grey plug. Also check fuse 33 underdash, shows ECM,it is the ingition power feed to the PCM,(not the coil, seperate circuit) any of these can cause No start.
i am running out of things for it to be here. i really really need to get this thing going and don't have the money to bring it in to someone.
all the grounds in the computer harnesses are good.
all the grounds on the engine are tight
cleaned and checked every connector is on correctly
its got a new coil, ignition module, crank angle sensor
i have tried a different opti
all fuses are good.
i have added extra grounds between the engine-frame and engine-battery and battery-frame
there is no way i could have shorted anything out cause the battery has been completely dead and unhooked for months and i just bought a new one after i put the engine in and hooked everything up. and still no spark....
my friend has a preditor and he helped me scan my car. no codes. it just showed no spark and its -8.8* timing? don't know what the hell that means or much about preditors.
