Top Speed And Opti Spark
I just did 160 mph in my stock, 92 lt1 6spd. It was starting to go into the red on the tach. Is this the true top speed of the car or is there more left in it? Also, I've got about 70,000 miles on my car and am wondering when I should change the opti spark and where is a good place to buy an updated version of it? Thanks.

161 or so was the recorded top speed by Road&Track for a 1992 LT1 6spd. So giving speedo (and tach) error, you had a few more to go.
The only "updated" one available is the Dynaspark, and it's EXPENSIVE. About 600.00. It is a nice piece tho.
You can update the GM version (well, add the vent lines at least) for about 10.00 more then the cost of the opti.
