The above site has instructions for radio removal but it includes console removal.
Good Luck.

Lift the console door, there should be two screws at the front of the console. Then there is one in the ashtray.

If it were just the bulb that needed to be replaced(or reinserted, sometimes they fall out), you could just lift the console up high enough to get your hand in there and change it.

But since you said your door fell off(not sure exactly what you mean). After removing the three screws mentioned above, pry out the shift button with a thin blade screwdriver. Then take some snap ring pliers and remove the snap ring. The shift **** should lift right off.

Now lift the console plate and disconnect the rear hatch button and the cig lighter.
If the bulb for the shift indicator is still inserted, remove that. The console plate should come right off.

Now you can do your repairs.

Briefly read your post and a quick reply in the event you are still struggling with console removal. If you are trying to remove the unit attached to the tunnel, you will have to peel the felt up inside the tray area. Underneath you will find four plastic inserts which can be removed. Under the inserts, phillips head screws!
