On the way to swapping the rear diff I'm in the process of removing the exhaust system. Trying to remove 3rd (and final) bolt from the front left exhaust to cat flange.
How do you access this bolt and get torque on it?
Here is the fun path I have to take to get to it:
I already had to use PB to loosen the first two bolts which were rusted fast, so I'm expecting this last one to be just as hard. Any thoughts on how to get up there & get torque on that *$#@!#?
Failing any solutions, would you:
A) cut the bolt?
B) disconnect left exhaust at EM/Cat?
Cordless sawzall!!!!!Joking,Man that looks like a pain.If you had a portable torch. One of those small ones at Wallyworld.I heated mine up and it broke loose.PB Blaster didn't even do it.
It's been a long time since I did that so I don't remember for sure, but I think I was able to get a socket or box end wrench on it from some angle that let me rotate it a tiny bit at a time, and just had to work on it forever.
I had sprayed PB on there a few days ago and a couple times more since then so I'm sure that helped to free the rust a little. I used an angle adapter & extension connected to a fairly long torque wrench &, bit by bit, it turned.
Exhaust system is now removed; time to start the diff swap
