I have had an MSD coil laying around for about 2 years in a drawer, brand new of course, I am finally going to install it should I also order an MSD 6AL? The car is very modified but there is not any NOS or blowers on the car.. I just ordered the harness so of course it makes it very easy to install the 6AL. Just like I said the parts are here why not install them? Any benefits or disadvantages..
Sorry parts going into an 96 LT1 that was converted to an LT4, TPIS LT Headers, Breathless Ram Air, Granetilli MAF, BBK 52MM TB Magnaflow exhaust, LT4 Hotcam + many other mods..

I like my MSD due to the crappyness of the stock tac and rev limiter. It is much easier to play with the RPM pills to set the rev limiter where you want it instead of the GM rev limiter and stock tac lag always varying. It also makes installation of a shift light or a new tac super easy too. Does it add any hp? probably not but I love mine.
It won't hurt anything, just don't expect a big increase in performance. I run an MSD Digital 6 on mine, I prefer it for it's better rev limiter than stock.
Nathan actually did the install of my MSD Digital 6 for me. He installed it under the hood, front corner, passegener side, near the rad overflow.
Everytime it rains and I flip my headlights, a ton of water dumps on it. I also live in Canada. Lots of cold, hot, rain, humid, snow, ice, you name it.
