Default 84 Cluster problems!!!

I hope the members here can help me with this!
Everything works fine with the dash except 2 things 1 the fuel gauge
is stuck on"FULL" 2 the tachometer show's the rpm light all the way
to the top, and the numbers just show's 88 that's when it is hot
outside, when it's cool the tach works fine does anyone
know what could be the problem?

Thanks... Poncho

There is possibly two problems: 1 there is a bad ground on you instrument panel(this is very common) for the hot cold situation. For the fuel showing always full could be the fuel sender stuck at a full position. You can unplug the fuel sender by the fuel filler and see if it goes to empty which would tell you that the sender is stuck. On the hot cold with the tach, this will take a little more work as you would need to check the connections on the cluster itself which is quite a bit more time. If you can check those things out and let us know we can go from there...
