a/c pressure problem....
I had warm a/c on the '89. I checked the pressure and it was reading low. I had put r134a in 2 years ago. I went and added some r134a and oil. When the a/c compressor is running the pressure is around 25 with my gauge. The a/c compressor does not stop running and when I shut the a/c system off and leave the gauge connected the pressure shoots up to almost 100 ( I know this isnt right). I only have a gauge to connect to the low side port and not the high side. Any help is appreciated.

The only thing that would draw the pressure down would be a restriction in the system. I worked on a caddy a few weeks back at work that was actually *drawing a vacuum* when the compressor engaged. I checked the orifice tube first, and it was full of s$*t. The desicant bag in the reciever drier had burst, sending it's little flakes throughout the system.
