This morning when I pulled into the gas station, I shut the car off and when I opened my door the radio stayed on instead of shutting off as usual. At first I thought I might have turned the key too far back but nope, I took the key out of the ignition and had the fob in my pocket. About 30 seconds later it shut off. Didn't think too much of it. But then when I got to work, not only did the radio not shut off when I opened the door, (key out of the ignition) but the doors locked and the alarm armed! When I went to put the key back in the ignition, the alarm went off once and then everything shut down like its supposed to.
Anyone know what is causing this and what it is going to cost to fix? BTW, I have a '95 LT1 A4.
Sounds like the button on the door is stuck. The one that tells the car if the door has been opened or not. try freeing it up, and putting some silicon greese on

Make sure that the switch (DS and PS) operates freely. A shot of WD40 should help. Then just push on the switch a few times. That should free it up and prevent sticking. Also, it is a two part, self adjusting switch (at least on my 91). Use a small, flat blade screwdriver and pry the inner section out of the barrel slightly then close the door. You should be good to go.
Hey Mike, break out a micro fiber towel and some quick detailer and detail the car. It won't fix the problem but the car will look good.
Was great meeting you yesterday
