Default too much traction?

...or too light flywheel, running with about 3/4 tank of fuel(3380lbs)and M/T et streets doing a light burnout and 20psi, dumping clutch at 5600rpm,and the motor still bogs considerablyI'm thinking the carolina stage 3 clutch and 12.5lbs flywheel may be to light and agressive for my power level.I'm going to try 1/4 tank and maybe remove the spare tire and carrier to lighten the rear.I know there are some of you that say 12.5lbs is too light ,sad to say but I now agree it does not like low rpm driving without the weight to keep the momentum going...anyway I'm thinking 4:10 would help off the line ,or maybe I have too much tire,I always here about no traction so I thought I would trow something different in any ideas.

It's always been said that a heavier flywheel is better for drag racing and the lighter flywheels for circle track racing.

Yeah the light flywheel idea came due to the fact that a dual mass is about $2300 cdn ...want another shocker a ZF from the dealer is well over $8k. thought I think carolina sells a D/M for a A LOT less than that so maybe next year i will swap it

Is it possible to have too much traction? If it's any help with my completely stock setup LT4 car, 1/2 tank, I launched at 3000=bog, 4000=little bog, 5000=incinerate the hides through the 60' Obvious where it starting to make some power.

Granted this was on street tires but it gave me a good indication of what I need to do.

some have had other experiences, but i most definitely share with your frustration. i had the same FW last year in my '90 and HATED IT HATED IT HATED IT. from a street/daily driver perspective, it sucked. it was loud and embarrassingly noisey, a pain the the **** when launching from a stop (you had to rev it up 2500-3000 freakin' rpms to get it rolling, which it preposterous), and the feeling of torque was pretty much killed while launching (isn't torque and power one of the main reasons we drive these cars to begin with)..............So I marched right back to Carolina Clutch, got myself a new stock DM replacement, and have been very happy since The DM is approx $600 USD, 1/2 of what you'll pay at the dealer

4-speed drag cars like light flywheels because they can get away with insane rear end gears so get into the power band quickly but have poor low end torque(sort of like two stroke motocycles). The light flywheel mainly gives the engine much faster revs because of the less inertia (things at rest tends to stay at rest, Issac Newton). Heavy flywheels build a lot of momentum once turning because of the heavy mass so make it easy to pull away from stop lights and run taller gears. Sounds like a heavier flywheel is the best fix.
