A/C Compressor question

A/C Compressor question
On an 88 vette the A/C compressor has a pop off valve on the top of the compressor on the high side has anyone ever have this valve leak ? The valve appears to be replaceable since it screws out.

If it does, I'm unaware of it. System and the Nippo 10PA20C relies on a high pressure switch which will cut power to the clutch if the high side gets above 420 psi. If that high side tube is leaking, may be able to replace (you might have to buy the whole manifold) at www.acsource.com or www.ackits.com although the only parts I've ever found for it is the shaft seal kit.

Went to an AC Delco parts house and picked one up for $20. this valve just leaked the system down, the car hadn't even been driven in a while let along had the A/C on. When i tried to add freon the valve was spitting so to speak everytine the clutch would engage. O well i'll just pull a vaccumn and fill it up again.
