Lower Ball Joint question
Hi,
Car year: 1992
I was wondering if the lower ball joints can be removed without any special tools and not unbolting the upper ball joint?
I did a search-but was not able to find what I was looking for.
Thanks!
Steven

You will need a "special tool" to press it out of the lower control arm.

With the aluminum control arms, the proper tool is needed. No use beating them in with the BFH. You can cause alot of damage without the right finesse.

Follow up
The lower ball joints were on back order so I purchased them from Chris at Superior Chevy.
Also the tool that they gave me was a fork
When I called them and told them that tool was useless that credited my card and let me keep the tool.
I purchased a C-clamp/press type tool and it works great! So far I did the left/side lower. When in with no problems!

When you did the lower BJ's, did you have to support the leaf spring for removal.

I had a jack under the lower control arm. Also I had to get the car high enough to get the tool to fit. It was not to bad of a job.
