The on-going saga continues. Despite some progress on the engine rebuild from last October (thanks Mark and everyone who wrote), the MN6 tranny is definitely the cause of my latest concern. After warming up, then starting from a stop (I'm in first or 2nd) I hear a slight grinding or flexing in the tranny.
Any ideas? Any good tranny mechanic recomendations?
Thanks Mr. Mojo - I just want to go on record to say, "there's a long list of folks who want to tell me where to go"
Sorry - cheap joke
I vaguely remember your reference to him before, so I'll give him a whirl shortly!
Here's an 8+ year update - after not finding a tranny problem, living with it for years, with the help of my son we echo locate it to be the driveshaft rubbing on the exhaust. Last fall I took it in toe Meineke and asked them to take a look to spot the wear and give me max clearance.
Less than 84 bucks later, my problem is cleared up. During the engine rebuild, the exhaust system was compromised for fit and alignment. The many year saga (last posted June 2005) ended. It is embarrassing that it took so long, but the happy ending finally got here.
