Default 91 coupe shocks - replace???

I have recently bought a 91 coupe with 91K miles. I was thinking of replacing the shocks with Bilstein regular gas shocks. I noted on one of the spec treads those are infact the originals. Question - From an experience point of view, is there any benefit in the replacement if the current original shocks appear to be OK ??????

Thank you for sharing your experience.......

my '89 would hop almost sideways over railroad tracks. I replaced the dry rotted tires which helped alot but would still hop so I replaced the original bilsteins (showed no evidence of oil leaking or any issues with them) with new bilsteins and it's perfect now.

Some, yes. Shocks wear out at about 75K, and these in particular tend to get stiffer as they age.

I replaced my FX3 shocks last weekend. As said above no signs of leaking or anything like that. It drives and rides like a different car now.
