On one of the fuel lines, about 9 inches from the fuel rail, there is a 'flying saucer' looking device that is about 2 or three inches round. Not described in Helms. What does it do?
9 inches from fuel rail could be alot of places. In what direction? Do you have another point of reference?
The only thing that comes to mind that is "flying saucer like" is the EGR valve but its attached to the belly of the intake plenum right smack in between the 2 fuel rails. Then there's the fuel pressure regulator also in between fuel rails under plenum. Neither are 9 inches away though.
Wait, I forgot you said "on fuel line", I see it, it looks like a little regulator of sorts. I'm not sure about that one. My helms pictures it but doesn't label it.
You are probably looking at something called an "accumulator". Not sure exactly what it does, I think it damps the fuel pressure "pulses", but I am not sure.
Thanks on the avatar thing. I like it too. Looks like I got a wheel in the air on launch. Probably didn't, I dunno. My son took it. I thought it looked cool
