I had a problem with those symptoms.
The Tensioner/idler pulley is not adjustable.
Take a good at look at the aluminum bracket that the AC compressor mounts to. Make sure it's not cracked and that all of the braces are intact. If it's cracked the movement of the bracket could be causing your problem.
Manually rev the engine at the throttle body and see if you see any movement at the compressor.
