I massaged mine a bit

Does it help? Who knows. Maybe with more mods it will pick up a little something.

if you port it do you need to have the car tuned?

No. If that's all you do, it'll be fine. The concensus is around here, Dave Kuldos does a fine job of this for much less than an aftermarket one. Some of the aftermarket ones are troublesome anyway.

David Koldos is the man for stock (48mm) to 52mm. Excellent work and great to deal with.

With my LT1 I did have to have the car tuned. As the last mod I made after heads/cam and headers the PCM could no longer manage the changes with stock tune.

I have a heads/cam upgrade and on a previous dyno session the tuner didn't change the A/F. After installing the 52mm TB the idle was erratic and cam surge at low revs was worse. A tune by Jeff Creech smoothed it out and gained about 10 HP for me.

Theres a guy out in KS that does them. He hangs out on the CZ28.com board. he puts new bearings in them and all.

They require reprogramming definately if the car is a 94+ just to get the transmission back in line.. oR the best it can possibly be.

i'll also offer another source, although i don't know how useful it would be. i bought my 52mm used, it was a stock unit bored out and bearings, etc. all replaced.......work was done by Arizona Speed & Marine.....however I don't know what they charge for the job.
