Default HELP! - Strange problem with fans

I just completed replacing the Opti and water pump. The replacement went great and the car runs perfectly smooth now. The "service engine soon" light comes on though and I notice the fans (both) stay on no matter what. The ac is off, the coolant is cold, but the fans remain on. I check for codes and I get C12 (normal code) and H23. What the heck in H23. Sounds like something is not communicating. I am getting a coolant temp reading on the display or else I would say that it is the coolant temp sensor. I am truely baffled. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks

Ok lets first clarify year. Are we talking 85 like your name? 85 doesn't have an OPTI does it?

That being said, with the L98 and I think Lt1 also, the temp gauge is a different sensor than the CTS. On the L98 the CTS is below the throttle body up front just under where the accordian air breather tube connects to TB beside the thermostat housing. The dash gauge temp sensor is located near oilstick inbetween the #6 and #8 spark plug.

So, it probably is the CTS or wiring to it grounding somewhere.
