Default Vette on flatbed...breaks the heart

Just had my 94 picked up at my shop to have a clutch and front and rear main seals installed. Breaks the heart to see it up on a flatbed and towed away.

True. Things can always get worse, and somewhere out there another ****'s GOT it worse right now! And FWIW, mine's been flat-bedded once to date due to a tanked ignition module and coil.

My buddy used to always say "No matter how bad you think you've got it, somebody somewhere has is worse."

Three buddies die in a car wreck, Tom, Dick, and Harry. At the gate St. Peter says "We will give you a mode of transportation equal to the life you lived on earth." Tom, you cheated on your wife, cussed, drank, smoked, gambled....not a good Christian. So you get a 1966 Dodge Valiant. Dick, you did better, but still drank and gambled, you get a 1988 Monte Carlo. Harry, perfect Christian, you get a new C6.

So one day Tom and Dick are driving down the road and pull up next to Harry and he is bawling his eyes out.

"Dude, what is wrong with you? You got the Corvette..what could be wrong?"

His reply "I just saw my wife go by on a skateboard!!!!!!!!!!"

If it makes you feel better I flat bedded mine back from the track Saturday. Fortunately it was just a seized idler pulley.

I have been lucky in the past. The AC clutch collapsed and got so hot the when I turned the motor off the belt melted in half. Drove home with no alt or PS. The clutch line blew once at the Dodge dealer. Drove 20 miles, 5 of which were heavy stop and go traffic, with no clutch. HARD ON THE STARTER!!!

May break your heart even worse, when you see the repair bill. Especially if they replace the flywheel.

Yeah, it could be parked in the garage and only driven when there is absolutely 0% chance of rain like some Vettes get treated.

BTDT 3 times. Just make sure they don't hook to any aluminum parts.

There's factory tow hooks front/rear. Maybe thats a bad sign.

And that was my fault. I let the coil go wayyy beyond the service manual inspection/replacement interval.

I got lucky here also. This guy is a friend of mine. I bought a Federal stock replacement clutch for $314 and Scott is going to install it and replace the rear main seal for $300. I guess my ex-wife sleeping around with my friends is coming in handy now!!!!!

We decided not to do the front main just yet.
