Default Exhaust system recommendations

I have a 95 six speed with minor mods, 52mm bbk, hooker shorties, 1.6 rr's and a cold air intake. The exhaust is straight back from the cats to an X pipe, then to imco mufflers. I had the X pipe installed hoping to reduce the interior rosonance, but it only made it worse between 1700 and 2100 rpm's. It's so bad you can't put the windows up.
I need an exhaust system that will quiet it down inside. I don't mind the outside tone being louder than stock.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

It depends on your budget. If you want the least amount of interior resonance and still pretty loud at WOT, Corsa is the way to go. The only downside, the Corsa System is expensive.

If the Corsa system is out of your budget. Flowmaster makes a nice aluminized system, The Force II. You will get a little interior resonace with this system, but not too bad.

My recommendation would be to find local Vette owners with each system, and hear them in person.

If you want zero resonance, Corsa is the way to go - and leave the X-pipe off of it, too! I heard mine side-by-side another member's car with the same setup, the only difference being an X-pipe in place of the Corsa center resonator, and his sounded completely different.

Wow! I see what you mean about expensive. The cheapest I can find is $969 on ebay plus shipping. Does anyone know a cheaper place to get the Corsa? If it will solve my problem I might try to swing it, but that is a lot of money.
How does it compare performance wise with other systems?

I just had the Flowmaster force II installed on my VERT> I have absolutely no resonance problem. It is not as loud a system as others, but it is perfect for what I was looking for.

I've had all kinds of exhaust systems on mine. I run shorties to OEM cats and then I've had B&Bs, which I really like, but in a vert, there isn't much resonance. I thought the B&Bs were too quiet, but much deeper than stock. Currently I have a stock exhaust with elims and a H/X pipe aft of the stock resonator. I love the sound, but no power gains. I just scare the competition.

I have hooker aerochamber mufflers with a straight test pipe....thankfully I don't like talking when I'm driving the vette.

Ragovet, where did you get the flowmaster II system, and how much did it cost? I want to get rid of the rosonance inside the car, and I don't know if I can swing the Corsa.

I got my Force IIs from JEG'S, love the sound on acceleration, tire noise is louder than exhaust in 6th at 70 mph.

I bought mine from MidAmerica for $799, but they've recently (i.e., within the last year) had a price hike to $899. Still, that'll save you ~70 vs. going the eBay route, plus excellent customer service, fast shipping, and free catalogues for the rest of your life (which may or may not be a good thing to you!).

Go with MidAmerica - they won't disappoint.

Magnaflow's here. no resonance. well, maybe a little. pretty quiet overall. they do get a louder as they get older. i knew that any power gains were gonna be minimal with any system, so i went with the one that pleased me aesthetically. i love the way they look. they sound really good at wot and not very annoying at cruising speeds.

I got mine through a local corvette shop in my home town area. I paid through the nose with installation. ($1600 installed.... I know. rip off, but I wanted to establish a relationship with the corvette specialist shop)

If I were just looking to buy the hardware directly, I would check the following sites or do a Google search......

Well, I ordered the flowmaster force II system from Summit for 563.90 delievered. I just couldn't afford the 1000.00 corsa. It should be in next week and I will find out if my money was well spent. Thanks for all the advice. Tom
