I have an 87 vert and my switch on the drivers door that releases the decklid does not seem to be working anymore. I have to use the passenger side switch in order to get the decklid to open. Does Ecklers.. or Mid America sell this switch or will I have to give Vette to Vette a call ?
I did not see it on ecklers but you can call them . Also, you may want to try cleaning the contacts on the existing switch.... I have a 95 and my switch is on the lid underside itself. The door switch is more prone to dirt etc from the window sill.
If the switch physically feels ok, as in not wobbly/ feels like the other switch, it most likely is ok. Try removing it and checking that all connections are made, voltage is present and that it indeed does or does not switch.
I just came across these switches on this forum's parts for sale. I would be willing to bet one of these rear window release switches is the same as that for the convertible lid on your year????
