1994 LT1 6 speed. The saga with the clutch is OVER. (new master and slave cylinders, new line, new pressure plate, TOB, friciton disc, and machined flywheel). Car is together and pretty smooth UNTIL I rev the motor over about 3k and the thing feels like it is going to come apart. The RPMs create a resonating vibration that hurts your head and overpowers the radio. I did not drive it for over two weeks while it was in the shop and I don't remember it feeling like this before. Motor pulls real hard, tranny shifts smooth, AC even blows cold. Checked the exhaust, it is not rubbing anything.
My thoughts...broken motor mount, out of balance pressure plate, out of balance or warped flywheel, dead cylinder, or the worse....loosing a main bearing. What do you guys think?
Does not seem internal-to-engine related. Motor mount, possible. Trans and clutch assembly, likely, too. Maybe not clutch, per se, but as you state, flywheel, pp, etc. Hope it fixes easily, but inexpensively, too!
Noticed in traffic when RPMs are under 1500 I have a miss that feels like a bad wire or plug. Floor it and it feels like it is missing 'til 4000rpm then starts pulling hard. Gonna start with plugs and wire this week. Have to wait unitl the weather breaks and I can drive the thing to one of my shops and get under it.
