Default NASCAR heat shielding

Anybody hear about a thin material that NASCAR uses to isolate the interior from drivetrain heat? My body shop told me that it's as thin as carpet backing and no heat gets through. Used under the carpet, it would keep the heat completely out, especially in the tunnel area. They didn't know what it was called as a customer brought it in for them to use. I'm going to look into it unless someone already knows.

dynamat is what most here use, i dont know if its the "official brand of NASCAR" or not, I think they use a 3M ceramic thermal shield

its not like it makes the inside of those race cars cool, its still well over 100F inside

I know, especially in those suits. I had the opportunity to work on Dave Marcis's crew for a couple of races in 2002 before he retired. I didn't pay attention to that aspect of the car. Maybe I'll give them a call.

Default ceramic

We use ceramic coatings and thermal barriers

racevision.com/products/coatings/ceramics/index.htm

You can coat your exhaust system and apply a thermal barrier to the inside
also a plate can be added with a special thermal material that reflects heat

if you need it done let me know
