Low idle
-----------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully this is the last of my woes.
Yesterday the car idled well, right around 800 rpm as it always did. I burped the cooling system and everything seemed fine.
Today it's idling really low, damn near stall (between 4-500 rpm) and staying there, the fans are kicking on way early.
We know my electrical system is a little flaky right now, but is there anything in particular that might be causing this? I know on some cars the computer needs to relearn things so they run rough for a bit after the battery is disconnected, is that what I'm experiencing?
Oh, and it's running rich. I smell fuel in the exhaust.
I played around, revved it, backed it down the driveway (can't drive it, no headlights) and now it's up to 800. Guess I'll go light up a smoke in my fuel filled garage...

Richness is another issue.Mine ran rich when I got it due to the FPR leaking. Is it rich all the time or just start up?If it is all the time I would hook up a laptop w/Datamaster to it and check your O2s.
With a Datamaster scan you can see your Long term counts(BLM's) should be ~128 lower numbers mean richer higher leaner. If you O2 is bad that side should show a different BLM causing what is refered to as "Split Blms" they should (left&right) be =
Your O2s should read ~800 but it kinda hard to see it as they constantly pulse low and high but the average should be around 800.I could tell mine was bad because it was slower to respond than the one that worked right.
I know I am gettin all technical on you but an old laptop with the free download and a cable from ALDLcables.com will plug right in and is a good tool to have.
