C4 Sunvisor Floppy Ear Syndrome
I have a 95 C4 Coupe and both sunvisors have floppy ears. It seems as though the "stiffiner" at the fold has broken. Does anyone have a fix for this condition other than replacing them? I've already looked them up at several on-line web stores and they are not cheap, especially with both left and right having the lighted vanity mirros.

It's the cardboard inside that is no longer attached!!!
Not that big a job to fix if you know someone with a good sewing machine???
Mine, I just fold them upward and push the visor up until I get around to fixing them...

On the back of the mirror are two rubber prongs that entend through the cardboard and the masonite interior to hold the mirror in place. A rectangle has been cut from the fabric behind the mirror to allow these prongs to penetrate.
Some people push a thin piece of stiff plastic or metal in behind the mirror, on either side of the prongs till the stiffener reaches the tip of the visor ear. This will eliminate the floppiness till the stiffener pushes through the fabric.
The fabric on my visors was shot too so I pulled them apart, cut & formed new cardboard and recovered them with new fabric. Since I don't have a sewing maching the work was done on some long winter days...by hand.

PM me your email address and I'll send you directions to fix. All you need to supply is a piece of plastic venetian blind like material (maybe get a piece at Lowes or Home depot) that is 1/16" thick, 1 3/4" wide and 11 3/4" long.

If you don't feel like messing with it I have two black ones from my 93 that I don't need anymore...
$30 for both. I can send pics if you're interested.

Mine were the same way. I bought some masonite at Home Depot and made new ones a little narrower and shorter than stock. Thought the originals were way too big. I used pop rivets to attach the old hardware to the new masonite and then took them to an uphostery shop to have them covered with a thin foam layer under the material. I did away with the mirror and lights in the process since I never used them anyway.
Sorry I can't give you a price on that because I had my seats, center console cover and sunvisors all done in the same material at the same time so they would match.
