Interior so far:
-Windshield pillar modings, rearview used to squeak like crazy.
-Spare tire rattling around used to drive me nuts.
-Change laying in the ashtray or console can make all kinds of noise if the resonance is bad enough
Front end rattle-Replaced brake bias spring,Replaced rubber hood stops near cowl, tightened coolant overflow line bolt quiet now.
Interior-Dash squeak-Velcro all around the gauge bezel, tighten and repair head light switch bolts
Turn the radio volume up. I bought new side window/door mouldings and am ordering a new moon roof/windshield rubber. Yesterday a plastic moulding screw fell in my lap. Screws are constantly coming loose. The clear roof/windshield connection is so rattly I don't hear much else from other parts of the car.
after modding my car, all i have to do is turn the key and all that's heard in the cockpit is the thumping thunder of it all. gawd it turns me on
when it was stock, you could hear a few squeaks here and there. thank god it not stock........
oh back to the program, sorry --- once i had a major rattle at the rear hatch when hitting ANY bump.....replaced the hatch assy with a good used one and all has been well since (2 yrs. ago).

Raspy noise from under the car when starting out turned out to be the bell housing dust cover (flat plate facing the oil pan). The bolts are tight, but it moves around anyway. The plan is to remove it and put a bead of silicone around the contact area, and put it back on after it cures. Hope it works.
The DS mirror was loose and bugged me every time I shut the door.
Thanks to a Forum member I've tightened up the screws and no more embarassing rattle.
I'm having the same problem. The entire mirror "unit" including the head is rattling. Can you please share with me and others how you tightened the screws. Was it from the top, by removing the mirror itself, or from below, by removing the door panel. Thanks,

The spare tire holder has 2 positions I believe, one for the mini spare & another for the full size tire. You'll have to drop it to figure out which is which. Your owners manual shud have the info.

As yo may expect the bolts are inside the door.sorry

I've got a very, very loose mirror glass. The mirror itself is rock solid, but the glass jumps around like a madman! New mirror has been purchased.
I purchased the felt squeak reducers from GM for the hood and roof panel. Those helped a bunch.
I've also got a huge amount of noise coming from the rear hatch glass. On a bumpy road (way too common around here) it sounds like there's a Guinea Hen back there! I don't have a fix for it yet, but any suggestions would be a help.

My pillars are pretty solid; I just tightened the screw to keep the RV steady; but my Cobra keeps dropping so I'll have to get two new rubber "feet" to remount it.
-Spare tire rattling around used to drive me nuts.
I eliminated that issue when first I got my Vette; the spare & jack are sitting quietly across the room.
-Change laying in the ashtray or console can make all kinds of noise if the resonance is bad enough
I only carry change in the three slots in the console and resonance doesn't bad enough to cause it to rattle.
I got rid of the RH mirror rattle by tightening the three bolts that hold the motor mount to the shell. First you need to remove the three bolts holding the motor to the mounting frame and remove the motor. If you move the mirror to it's ourward and downward extreme you should be able to see if the shell mounting bolts or nuts are showing inside the shell. I don't recall if it uses bolts & nuts or just screws to hold it to the door.
The most annoying rattles now are in the hatch. I believe they are associated with the shade and/or the top holders. But these are only issues on really rough roads. The A/C mix door is next on the agenda.....after I get the ES bushings installed onto the rear sway bar and after the reconditioned injectors are back in...it's always something.
