Default Nitrous Update II

So, after changing the jetting to 53/36, I have waited all week to spray on it. Weighed the bottle, gave me a 23.2lb reading. So, I heated it up, had it at 1000psi bottle pressure. Opened the bottle, armed the system, smashed the throttle, once it hit 3000rpm, BAM!
WOW! I can't believe how hard this thing pulls!! It literally gets to 100mph INSTANTLY!
STILL no Camaro, BUT, I will say...NITROUS IS GOOOOOOOD!!! I can't wait to get to the track with the current setup, see that 11.99!

My 10 lb. bottle weighs 15 lbs. empty. 25 lbs. full. If you weighed it after fill up you may have been shorted 1.8 lbs from your provider. You gotta watch some of these guys. Especially if you're new. They may try and see what they can get away with at first. See if your checking. Just a thought.

It's great stuff isn't it? I still dont get why there are so many N20 pessimists. It's a wonderful mod if you ask me. I know somebody out there is thinking --"wait till you crater your motor and tell us that" But I say-- "yeah like any serious mods cant do that". Thats just high performance, you take your chances and stand prepaired to pay. I think they should try it instead of being scared because of the stories that some ignorant rednecks caused. Those stories apply to all forms of performance enhancement by the ignorant.

I've made countless passes and gone through alot of bottles of juice since my install and so far so good. Then I still enjoy 32mpg on roadtrips and the everyday reliability of stock with minor mods and headers. I think it's a wonderful mod.

Glad to hear you've seen the light. Now dont get greedy and you'll be another success story.

No, no. It WAS 100% FULL, I've sprayed quite a bit, like at least 6 times, *testing* it. : Finally got the jets 100% DEAD ON, and HUNTING SEASON IS OPEN!

What Dave said is right !
I have all the busines from all the junkies in the neighborhood.
The local repair shop was filling nitrous for the racers until all my buddies
that run nitrous started talking to them.
Now I fill about 200 plus pounds of nitrous a week.
I just had one of my 10 second buddies lose his motor, broken rods crank and so on.
The TCI street fighter let loose and shook the motor to death .
NO nitrous on this car.
He has decided to build a cheaper motor and run nitrous .
He has lost 2 motors in 2 years.
The nitrous boys are on their 4 year same motor running nitrous and we still take the majority of the wins.
Last year we took 1,2,3, place for the year, all nitrous cars.
July I took first place and $500.00 in the sportsman summett class, and currently am head to head with 2nd place for the year.
They never know if I am going to hit the juice or not .
I launch hard and make them break out.
Have a and happy hunting.
Remember don't race another nitrous car he could be crazier than you and put a 300 shot in .

They're probably built for it though. I woulld'nt go above a 150 shot on stock motor without forged pistons and crank. I'm sticking with 125 shot here unless it's an important race that warrants the excess.

Thats a little hard to believe really. I'm not saying you're fibbing but maybe he is. I would like to see how long he could do that and get away with a healthy motor/trans/rearend/halfshafts ect... Seems kind of crazy to me. I guess anything is freakishly possible.

Lets see Hyperpuke pistons and powder rods and a cast crank running 400 shot of nitrous.
I would tell my competion to run that combo if I wanted to win.
Yes when I was in Florida last year some of the guy's were running over a 200 plus shot of nitrous on Hypertech pistons because they said that was all they could afford.
Of course I stepped back when they came to the line.
Oh yes the ford mustang did blow his converter on the ground first pass.

Here's what happens when you run hypereutectic pistons www.kcsr.org/viewtopic.php?t=30573&highlight= Of couse being stupid and reving your cast bottom end to 6500 doesn't hurt either. NA no nitrous or blower.

Trust me, I don't believe it EITHER, but these guys are D-U-M-B! They are willing to win at ANY cost. They build things SUPER CHEAP and expect them to last...
