Default Voltage/alternator question...

I have never had a problem with the voltage on the vette until today. I installed a Pioneer Head unit. ( cd player ) and the dash lights are very dim.. my light **** is turned all the way up too. while im driving, the lights brighten up but only for like 2 seconds, and its only every once and a while. It also does it even if the CD player is off. I was wondering what the problem could be. What is the Amperage output on the stock alternator? Thanks guys ! hopefulyl I can get some help.

I believe it's 105 amps. See my post. It must be the day for Voltage problems.

Hard to think it's a system voltage problem unless you've installed some sort of mega amp. Depending on year and whether or not it has electronic air and whether or not it's replaced a Bose, the radio dim signal is from the a/c panel and I believe some have had problems once that connection is eliminated or left open. Might try the Radio Section, but post the Year and what type of radio you've replaced.
