Have a 92 coupe with 2.59 axle ratio. Are all the same?. Just what advantage or disadvanage is such a ratio?. Also has FE1 soft ride suspension,boy am I glad its got that.
Automatics have the 2:59's. Sounds like you have an auto car.
No real major disadvantage in the grand scheme of things. It provides great highway gas mileage.
More gear will launch you harder tho.

I think the 3.33s were on the early cars. Most of the D44s (Manual transmission rear) I have seen were factory filled with 3.45s. A 3.07 was offered as a performance ratio for the automatics. The milage hit for going from 2.59s to a 3.45 is more than offset by the smiles per mile you get from the increase grunt off of the line.
