Default 1985 Failed Inspection For Co

I Have Many Mods And All I Have To Break Down Pollution Is The Cat. And Only The Cat. The Car Smells Like Its Running Rich And I Have An Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. I Also Have A Custom Chip.
Is This Just A Matter Of Dialing Down The Fuel Pressure And Replacing The Stock Chip? Any Suggestions?
How Many Psi Should I Be Running? With 24 Lb Injectors, Ram Air, 52mm Tb, Large Tube Runners, Bigmouth Manifold, Fully Gutted Plenum And Maf Sensor, Headers Etc.
Any Help Would Be Appreciated.

are you saying you failed inspection or emmissions?

In PA that's two very different things.

If you failed emmissions, was it a visual or sniffer test you failed?
What were your CO numbers?

He failed for Co content.
The stock fuel pressure for 85 was 36psi with 24# injectors.

it was emmissions. i failed the stick up the tail pipe on a dyno deal.

THANKS FOR THAT INFO. I WILL START FROM THERE THEN READJUST THE TPS AND IDLE SPEED.

WOULD IT BE WISE TO REMOVE THE CUSTOM CHIP AND REPLACE THE STOCK?

Default failed I/M test

I failed UT. I/M test twice,on the third try I set timeing at about 5 or 6 degrees above tdc,which is about 10 or 11 degrees retarded.Then I advanced the tps sensor to max,about 61.This really leaned out the air-fuel mix.Also I cut fuel pressure back to about 38 psi.I changed the chip to a hypertech that came with the car,with these changes I passed I/M test.
I have a 383,58mmT/B, 24lb injecters, long tube headers,big mouth manifold,ported plemum,siamesed runners,ported corvette 113 heads,and 1.6 roller rockers,Good luck.

Look at my sig for mods, i passed the emmission with alvin's chip
in georgia. I adjust 38 psi and engine was very hot.

wow, you passed with all that?
what i did is set the tps to .54 and balanced out the idle speed as well as put back the stock chip. sounds like a plan?

Set the timing at 6 deg and run 10 miles before u jump emmsission station, anywhere tps voltage between .54-.6 will be alright, reduce
some fuel pressure to about 35-38 psi at idle.

i passed it but too close.

EXCELLENT ADVICE. YESTERDAY I REMOVED MY STAGE 2 CHIP, LOWERED THE FP TO 34.5 WITH FP VACUUM HOSE ON.(IS THAT THE CORRECT WAY?) AND LOWERED THE TPS TO .545 BUT HAD A HELL OF A TIME TRYING TO BALANCE OUT THE IDLE SPEED. I COULD NOT SET THAT TO SPECS AS THE CAR SURGED DRAMATICALLY. DO YOU KNOW WHY? THIS EVEN HAPPENS WITH THE STAGE 2 UNTIL I BUMP UP THE IDLE SPEED.UNBALANCED AIR-GAS RATIO? ALSO, HOW DO I GET A HOLD OF ALVIN FOR A CUSTOM CHIP?
THANKS SO MUCH AND ILL LET YOU KNOW IN A COUPLE OF DAYS THE OUTCOME.
