Default blowing primary fan fuse

I have a 93 LT1 6 sp. My primary fan 30 amp fuse keeps blowing. I have traced the wires and can't find any shorts. I can put in a new fuse test the fan and it will work fine but will end up blowing after a drive. I have swapped out the relay with the 2nd fan since it is the same and it has made no difference. Any ideas?

Unplug the fuse and place an ammeter capable of indicating 30 amps continuously (most test meters cannot) and confirm that the motor draws somewhere around 14 amps. I suspect that either the fan blade hits something and gets stopped during driving (bump etc.) or else the insulation on the wires to the fan motor are abraded and the wire touches ground from bumps when driving, blowing the 30 amp fuse. Inspect the entire length of the wire from the relay to the motor.

Could be the fan motor, when it is working take a ampmeter and see how many amps it is drawing.

Well I traced all wires and found nothing grounded or shorting. I put in a new fuse and shorted the ecm and both fans comes on fine. Start the car up no fan (good) turn on A/C fan comes on (great) I let the car warm up to let the fan kick in at normal temp and it does but after about 45 seconds the fuse popped. The relays are good so I'm guessing that once the fan motor gets hot it is pulling to many amps like MR KIDD said. I will check it tomorrow, thanks.

A motor can tighten up (bearings or bushings) when it gets hot and then pull to many amps blowing the fuse.

Well it was the fan motor. I swapped it out last night and drove it all day, never blew the fuse and kept it cool all day. Thanks for the input guys!!
