ABS tester for 86 -87
We learned recently that the 86 spindle we have i n the car is different than the original 87 spindles and the sensors with the o-ring will not fit unless you machine the top of the hole out enough to fit them in without the spacer. Is this what needs to be done to retrofit them?
One of the wire connectors to the front sensors was also damaged and had resistance. We replaced it with a temporary wire and a home made plug to be able to test the system. Anyone know if there are new plugs available with the seals?
The brakes seem to be applying on thier own so we can't even drive it to the dealer. It says that the brakes system deactivates when the light is on but in our case it doesn't and they eventually lock up and the car won't roll.
What tester will check an 86 87 ABS system?
I heard the Tech 1 with a Bosch adapter will work?
Any other units we can use?
I have a brand new Snap On SOLUS and it only tells me how to check it with a DVM.
Has anyone disconnected the system altogether?
Can we connect the brake lines together to bypass it?
If so how do we do it?
