New to this site, just looking for some input. Have a 95 LT4 with 130,000 miles. Just wondering what the life expectancy is on the Opti. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Life expectancy is 131,000 miles--just kidding. You won't get any consistent answers since some folks swear these last no more than a couple of thousand miles to others that have had no problems for 100,000 miles or more. Whenever something goes wrong with the way the car is performing, most will blame opti and it is not clear if this is justified or not.

The later version, like yours, is better sealed, has better bearings and a vacuum based air flow that keeps moisture from collecting.

If you live in the Southwest, it could last 150k miles, or more!

If you live anywhere else, I would get ready to replace it.

They are rated by GM for 100k miles my original had 156k on it and was still working but I replaced it as a preventive measure with a Dynaspark as my 93 did not have the venting.

Default 95 Lt4?

They did not make a "95 LT4" The LT4 option was only available in 96 unless someone took a 96 engine and 6 speed transmission and put it in a 95. Is this the case? Just curious.

My new opti lasted 200 miles and then the rotor exploded!
I hate the opti!
