Default 96 GS brakes question...

Hi everyone,

This is gonna sound like a really simple (and stupid) question, but do the rear brake calipers on the '96 GS and Collector Edition cars have the word "CORVETTE" cast into them like the front calipers do?

If anyone has pics, please post.

Thanks in advance.

Mine don't. They look like other Corvette-less calipers.

I'd like to platform off the "Kid's" question on this one - I have a 95 and would love to put a set of of GS or CE fronts on mine (just so I could those very owrds portraited on my calibers !) - is this a simple swap ? (rotor diam = 13" on my car).

thanks for assist !

Yes, it's a bolt-on if you already have 13" brakes.

Here's a pic of the front one. I don't know if there's a pic of the rear anywhere on the site or not.

The rear appear to be the same as standard rears, except they are black. The part numbers for the fronts are 12528689 & 12528690 and the rears are 12528692 & 12528693 list price for the frts $264.13 each & rears $256.43 GM parts direct prices are $132.07 & $128.22.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Actually, that's why I was asking too - I'm considering swapping my stock HD calipers for the GS ones, but I wasn't sure if the back calipers had "CORVETTE" on them or not.

Thanks again.

By the way, who has the best prices on these anyway?
