I'm installing a new BBK throttle body on my 86 and have a question on the adjustment procedure for the throttle position sensor (TPS). Checked the shop manual and it gives some electronic measurements, but I can't find anything on the adjustments.... Someone help this 'Ol man.............

Adjust your TPS so the output reads those, "electronic measurements".

"but I can't find anything on the adjustments.... " What is it that you think you want to see???

RACE ON!!!

I performed that about two years ago. I obtained the TPS measurement connector/tool from Mid America, most vendors have one, and manually set the postion using the connector and a multimeter. It's not perfect but practice and patience can get it in the correct positon. The last time it took me about 10 minutes. I understand that there may be an adjustable TPS out there but I am not sure if it fits on my year (91).

I found that the stock air tunnel to throttle body does not fit. My solution to that was to cut about 3/4" inch into the air tunnel, tape it over with electrical tape and using the stock clamp, clamp it back on it seams to work. BBK says it wants to provide a larger air tunnel but has yet to deliever. I talked to them at Last years Mid America Fest.

You may want to consider using George Kilibrew's (SP - sorry George) process for resetting the idle it works great.

Good Luck.
