Default Long tubes-Worth it?

I have a '93 6sp and i did the LT4 head/intake/hotcam kit. I don't have catz. I still have the OEM exhaust manifolds and I got my wife convinced that it really needs long tube for it to run right , Well, the EM long tubes are over $700.00 plus I'm going to have to pay to get them installed. Is it REALLY worth spending this amount of cash? And what kind of gains will I see? I have her in the shop getting the slave done and checking my power steering. They have a dyno in the shop and I'm going to get some data to do a chip. So if I get the headers I will be able to dyno it after to compare. Input welcome....

hey folks, just got off the phone with Merel from Exotic muscle...He's getting ready to post another GP on the long tubes...I just ordered..($$ ouch) well I guess this should round out the package of the other work I did

I can't say, because I did mine at the same time the motor was being done, but I've got the same mods as you, and the car sounds sweet with the EM LT's on .

I've also got the Random Tech Hi-flow Cats

Plus they LOOK cool

Well worth it, You can gain an easy 20hp or more and your top end will give you a kick in the pants.

If you think of the motor as one giant air pump... yes headers help alot!!!

Default LT headers??

They are worth every dollar. The quicker you get the air in and out of an engine the better it will function.

On a stock engine they wont give you a huge gain, but with the mods that you have they will give you a noticeable improvement in HP.

with a good tune, you will notice a pretty sizable gain in hp. You can save a decent amount of money by shopping around on the forum and installing them yourself. I put in coated Hooker long tubes and it was a bitch, but I saved a lot. Installed, it was aroud $580.
