153 & Yes.

All C4s came with 153 tooth flywheels or flexplates.

On any SBC Chevy engine with a serpentine belt, the water pump turns in the opposite direction of one driven by a vee belt.

Make that 168 teeth. I ASSUME you have an externally balanced, two piece rear main seal, stroker, crankshaft. There is no reason not to make the substitution. The flexplate will fit. A 168 tooth flywheel will not. You can simply change the nose piece on your existing starter, if it is otherwise in good condition. Make sure your block is drilled and tapped with all THREE starter mounting holes.

You edited while I was answering. The 153 tooth 'wheel is 12 3/4" in diameter, and the 168 toother is 14".
