Default Loose electrical connectors

I originally posted this under general but I probably should of put it here. This is a 1984 4+3 Coupe. These 2 connectors obviously go together, but they are apart and one is jumped out. They are coming out of a harness that runs by the overdrive unit. Everything on the car works as far as I can tell (with the exception of the washer pump and the cruise control) does anyone have any idea what they go to?

I can only guess, never having seen the underside of a 4+3 car but I'm thinking that the one that's jumped across may have gone to a neutral safety switch. And the other, back-up light switch, maybe? Do they work?

I can't say for sure, either, but I believe there are switches in the transmission shift cover that those wires plug into. They inform the ECM what gear the transmission is in. They ought to show in your factory service manual.

RACE ON!!!

The 1st step (other than getting a copy of the GM Shop Manual by HELM for your Vette) is to see if there are spots on your 4+3 that will accept those connectors.
