Default need more block info...

ok i need to know if all 87 on up blocks have the holes drilled and tapped for the lifter spider, and weather all 87 on up blocks will accept the stock roller lifter parts or just the ones out of the factory equiped with the roller cam?
also is there any way to tell if a block is a 4 bolt main?
i am trying to find a doner car/truck to get a engine out of for rebuild, but i want a 4 bolt that is ready for a factory style roller cam..
thanks

Post 87 blocks have provisions for the roller valve train. This is true even if the motor has a non roller cam. I do not know of any way to confirm 4 bolt mains without pulling the pan. Most late model stuff did not have them. Don't underestimate the 2 bolt blocks. With a stud kit, they hold up well. I never had an issue with a 2 bolt block.......yet.

Anything '87 and up will be for a one piece rear main seal. I am quite sure you won't find a 4 bolt, roller block, anywhere but in a truck.

RACE ON!!!
