Replaced my MAF and vette still doesn't start with turn of key. I need to depress the gas pedal to get it started.. I've heard something about relays??? Where are they? Could they be the problem? I have a ' 87 vert...
No SES light.. Usually only happens after going somewhere and then trying to restart.. If it sits for day or more will start up. When going to :store, gas station, show, etc. always have to depress gas pedal to get it started.
Could be leaking injectors.See,when the car sits overnight,if the plugs got wet from gas it had time to evaporate. That makes it easy to start.
Do a fuel pressure test to see if it holds or leaks.Pressing the gas pedal down to start the car puts the car into clear flood mode which shuts off injector spray and allows the car to crank and eventually fire.Just hold the gas down long enough and it will start.Thats another sign of leaky injectors.
Have you checked your IAC position? If it is all the way closed, the motor might not be getting enough air to start. That's why when you step on the gas, the blades on the TB open and give you the air you need. I would make sure your IAC is ok and make sure your TPS is set to spec.
