Just fitted up 58mm BBK TB. (85-88 type)
Slight prob.
The spigot that the throttle cable clips on to is much smaller dia than either of the two stock TBs I have .
The clip on the cable end does not lock into the groove on the spigot as it is supposed to do so on throttle release it falls off.
Do not really want to weld the old spigot on my BBK just to get cable to stay in place.
Ideas?
Theres no reason for a 58MM or a 52MM TB unless you are running 406+ cubic inches.Send it back and save yourself some money.
Im not sure what your mods are but a stock TB can feed alot of mods before you really really need one.Now you have linkage problems you dont need and I highly suggest you send the TB back and use the stocker until you do some serious mods.
Just my 2 cents.
I need a new TB so I bought one to suit my race motor I am building and are currently trying it on my modded L98.Inital testing has a much better result than the 48mm especially with the ported plenum and siamised manifold. No off idle flat spot on tip in as people predicted.T
he race motor will use the same cable so I have to get it sorted one way or the other.
The issue is not the size , if I was to buy a 52mm I would probably have the same problem.
The spigot is .180 v .220 on the original.I considered filing the clip groove deeper but it will have no effect as there is no tension on the clip around the new spigot.
