Default Need advice on cat

Well I posted earlier this week and shared that I bought my first vette. My wife is getting better with the idea and I am taking her out to dinner this evening to try to smooth things out
Now here is the important stuff. I bought the car last Wednesday and I had it in the shop all day Friday for evaluation. My first mistake was not having it in the shop prior to purchase but I won't go there. Here is what they found:
1) Needs Brakes and Rotors all around
2) Needs ball joints up front and it looks like this means control arms? they look attached and riveted.
3) Needs catalytic converter. The one in it has separated and you can hear it banging inside.
4)Needs new emergency brake cables
5) Rear callipers

Well luckily I did not overpay for the car and I plan to have all the work done. Do any of you have suggestions on what replacement parts I should go with? Is there a cat that will allow for more than stock airflow? Should I go with slotted rotors?
Any suggestions on where to get all this stuff without taking a second mortgage.
Oh, did I mention the small oil leak
Thanks as always!
Paul
