Default RWHP and Gtech

OK I picked up an Ebay Gtech and did some runs checking for RWHP.I got a high of 245 and a low of 210.The tires broke loose at the the start just a little and the lower ones were after it may have heat soaked.Do these seem a little low or are they OK?I know it is not a Dyno but 20% loss and up seems a little high to me.I still am getting an intermittent vibration during heavy acceleration and am thinking it is causing some loss too. Thoughts?

A G-Tech is usually pretty good at getting ET's down, it usually reads high on MPH though and I've never seen very accurate readings from the RWHP measurements...go to a dyno.

I have a Gtech pro and I can tell you that the G-tech horsepower rating will be lower than the actual RWHP because it takes aerodynamic drag into consideration. On a dyno there is no drag. Take a look at your RWTQ number on the G tech. That will give you some idea where your RWHP lies.

So does anyone else use this thing? Anyone want to share their experience with it?

I know how slow I am.
I don't need an expensive tool to tell me....

I used the Gtech Pro and Gtech Competition in the past.
They are fun 'novelty' toys, but are only accurate under perfect traction, like a track. Which kind of defeats the purpose of having one..

The RWHP/TRQ measurements on the Gtech Pro were ways off, on the competition one they were pretty damn close to what my Dyno sheets said back then..

What about a real dyno. We charge $50 for three pulls here.. surely theres somone in your area that can do it at a reasonable price.

Or you can take it to the track and see what it actually runs.

A better estimate of DT loss with an A4 is 17%, which would put your power at the crank between 253-295hp.

Indeed it looks like you need to hook up better for an accurate reading.

The only way I see that being accurate for rwhp is when your tires don't spin. It would still be a good tool for comparing hp mod additions.

Not to mention weight input figure will effect the HP reading.
