Default Distributor question

Hey guys. I'm looking for a new distributor for my 89 L98. I have the HEI with an Accel Super Coil right now. It's big and bulky and I have to fight with it to get the cap on and off. The weatherstripping for the hood has to be pryed out of the way to put it on. The hood also touches the distributor when it is closed. I have always liked and had good luck with MSD stuff. Does anyone know if MSD makes a distributor that is computer controlled for the L98? I have searched high and low and am not having much luck. A small distributor with a box is what I would like. Can anyone help? Thanks guys, Troy.

I believe most people use the gear from the same year F bodies as they have a small dizzy and a remote mount coil. This is also used where a LT1 manifold is converted to suit a L98 as there is no room for the HEI.

I agree, I have seen post here with specific part numbers and explaining which wires to cut. It has been done many times. The info is here, try the search. Also check the tech tips. There may be one there also.

Yes sir! I would love a wiring diagram. Are you happy the the system? Did it make a difference in performance and emissions? Thanks a million!

Yes. it works fine. I dont think there is an actual performance upgrade, but it DOES give a lot more room back there and looks great. Jim is a great guy and will help you. If you send me your email address ill get you the wiring diagram.
