Default Question on FX3 Bilstein

Would the FX3 shocks for a 92 fit a 90? I called Bilstein and the only thing the guy could tell me was that they both had different part numbers.

P/N for the 92 front ba-7027
P/N for the 92 back ba-7028

Thanks

The shock itself is the same; the only thing that may be different is the valving. Side by side they look exactly the same.

have fx-3 on an 89 and a 90, and bought a system out of a 93. all three systems look, feel and taste the same. i could not feel any difference between them.

Don't know what the difference is but when I replaced mine I found that there are different part numbers for 89 - 91 and 92 - 95 with FX3. I would suggest you call the guys at eshocks.com. They were very helpful when I was checking on mine.

I believe that there was a change in '92. On the Pre '92 shocks the gear turns 180 degrees. On the '92+ shocks the gear only turns 90 degrees. I've been told that the actuators work for all years (89-95)

I replaced my 1990 FX-3's with a set from a 93 and had them rebuilt/revalved at Bilstein. They are different as was already mentioned, but Bilstein can rebuild them with either angle of rotation (for extra money of course). The later model shocks are supposed to be slightly better for some reason, but I can't remember what it was.

With a new prom they work great on the track and you can replace prom's to change their damping rates vs car speed, etc.
