Help under the hood
The hose is deteriorating and I want to replace it but don't want to waste time trying from inside to get to the hose connection when it can be done more easily from the other side of the firewall, or visa versa.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you have to remove the lower dash to work on this hose unless you are a contorsionist. It's in a very awkward location. I also removed the battery to get right in there on the engine side. Cut the hose anywhere you want to get it out; it goes through a rubber fitting in the firewall. I cut the hose right at the brake fitting, then rotated the fitting down (it rotates easily) and slit the hose open to remove it.
To get the new hose in, wrap the end of the hose in duct tape making a leader about 6 inches longer than the hose, then thread it through the firewall fitting and pull it through the other side like threading a needle. It helps to "lube" the tube up with vaseline or something.
Hope this helps.
