intermittent AC problem
I have a 93 coupe
A few months back, my AC quit blowing cold, and the green light was flashing, I took it to a buddy at the dealership, and it was something wrong with a wiring harness under the dash on the passenger side. He fixed that, and it's been fine since.
However, a couple weeks ago, it started acting up. It seems to be linked to the outside temp. It doesn't happen all the time, but just a couple times a week maybe. Here's how it goes:
I drive to work in the morning, not hot out yet, and it works fine. At lunch when I leave work, it's really hot out, and the inside of the car is baking. This is when the trouble starts. I start the car, and the AC fans don't come one, and the AC display just shows 2 dashes, and none of the buttons do anything. Every time this has happened, I've just turned the car off, let it sit for a couple seconds, started it up a second time, and it would be fine.
Well today, the same thing, end of the day, really hot out, all I get is the two dashes. But this time turning it off didn't fix it. So rode home with no air. Got home, let it sit for an hour or so, tried again, still no air. But I went out about 10 minutes ago now that it's cooled off considerably outside, and started her up, and the air came back on like normal.
Any ideas on what is malfunctioning, and what I should look for.
Thanks
Adam
