Default Drag Strip Results

I went out to the drag strip yesterday for the first time in over 3 years. The local Corvete had their annual drag day -- about 20 cars were there.

It seems like all I've done in the last 3 years is work on the car, mostly trying to fix electrical gremlins. I've had to rewire the entire body harness bulkhead connector (over 100 wiring splices) and replace almost every engine related electronic control due to water and brake fluid getting into the connector. This spring I was finally able to replace the rear wheel bearings and 1/2 shaft u-joints so I can drive the car hard again.

I got a total of 6 runs, with the first run being the best. I ran 13.48@103.22 with a 60' of 1.98. The rest of my runs were in the 13.5-6 range with speeds of 101.xx. All runs were on my street tires (Yokohama AVS Sports) with street pressures and a full tank of gas.

I'm a bit disappointed with the trap speeds seeing as how the car used to run consistent traps of 105+, but the air wasn't great (DA of 1900 ft) and I made all 6 runs within about 45 minutes so I'm hoping that was the primary cause.

The most important thing to me was that the car ran flawlessly and was very consistent. I think I've finally reached the point where I can trust the car not to leave me stranded.

What mods do you have? Maybe next time I'll leave my tire pressures up. Haven't had much luck launching these Yokos.

I have ported 113's; 1.6:1 rockers; Accel base; AS&M runners; ported plenum; gutted MAF; cut air cleaner lid; no precats; Random Tech high flow cat; 3" cat back with Dynomax bullet race mufflers and resonated tips; TPIS PROM; underdrive pulleys and the free mods.

I've found the straight line traction on the Yokos to be pretty good. I do a hard dry hop before I stage and I leave at 2200-2500 RPM. Pressures were 30 psi cold.

those arent too bad of times, and a high 1.9* with street tires isnt bad either. are u thinking about getting LT's? you prob have a bottle neck at the exhaust. heh, i have a vid of my car with LT's. send me your email, and i can sent it to you. sounds good!

I would LOVE to get LT's, but it's not in the financial cards at the moment. My stock shorties have been massaged, but they are still definitely the bottleneck in my system. With all of my other mods, I think the car would really come alive with LT's, especially after a tune. My long term plan is to do LT's with full 3" duals, including bullet cats and an x-pipe.
