A well tuned V8 with a low drag coefficient (believe the C4 is around .32) pays off at modest speeds. My 90 gets better gas mileage at 75mph than my 1973 VW did at 55mph. I like that.
As a note, the C5 (believe the Coefficient of Drag is under .30) typically gets better than 30 miles per gallon. Again, a well tuned V8 with even lower drag.
